Rain did not dampen the massive turnout of parents, families, friends, neighbours, staff and pupils at the Sanderson High School Annual Barbeque on May 19th. The school was raising money for their school fund which allows pupils to take part in residential trips amongst other excellent experiences, building their skills for learning, life and work. Generous donations came from parents, friends and businesses to contribute to an excellent barbeque and fun night.
The school raffled a patio set donated by Homebase, a bicycle donated by Halfords, Meal Vouchers and many other excellent prizes were bid for in the silent raffle. There were tombolas, hook a duck, a burger bar and a chocolate fountain. Headteacher, Mrs Aisling Boyle said she was overwhelmed with the generosity of all involved and with the time given by staff and pupils in donating to, preparing, organising and running the barbeque. Mrs Boyle said, ‘It was a huge success and we raised almost £2200 for which we are very grateful.’
