Take Ctrl – South Lanarkshire Self Directed Support

Dear Parents,

We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well in these difficult times. We wanted to let you know that Take Ctrl Self-directed Support Services are still open for business, although we’re operating a little differently. We still provide free and independent information and support to people with a care need, their carers and families around their rights to Social Work assessment, how to prepare for and participate in the assessment process, and how to make the best of their budget once it’s awarded. We can support you to choose the right option, whether that’s directly employing carers yourself, picking a care agency of your choice, letting Social Work organise your support, or a mixture of these. We can also signpost people who have been assessed as not eligible for a Social Work budget to other activities and sources of support.

We’re having to do this a little differently just now – normally we’d meet people face-to-face at a time and place that suited them, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic we’re providing this through phone calls, email, Facebook messenger and video call. We understand that transition from school to adult services can be unsettling at the best of times, and the pandemic has caused further uncertainty, so if we can help you with understanding your rights, accessing Social Work support or anything else connected with Self-directed Support, please get in touch with us as below:
